Grab your coffee, tea, or whatever gets you through the day, and let’s chat a little. Come on in, get comfortable, and stay a while. We’re all friends here!
I’m Lizzette, a proud Boricua and the woman behind Beautiful Chaos. I’m a nurse (part-time these days), a mom of four grown kids, and someone who apparently never learned how to stick to just one creative hobby.
And no, I’m not a grandmother yet. According to my kids, I traumatized them enough growing up that they’re reconsidering having children of their own. Their words, not mine!
My other half, John, would probably describe me as bubbly, sometimes quiet, and occasionally sarcastic. I’d say that’s a pretty fair assessment. Although, I’m sure he’d have a few more things to add!
When I’m not working or creating something, you’ll probably find me at the beach (I swear I should’ve been born a mermaid!), listening to music, or enjoying a little peace and quiet at home.
The beach has always been my place to mentally reset. There’s something about standing by the ocean, letting the tide roll in, and giving it whatever worries, frustrations, or troubles I’ve been carrying. And when the tide rolls back out, I imagine it taking all of that with it. It’s my way of letting go, clearing my mind, and finding a little peace.
Music is another form of therapy for me, and my taste? Well, let’s just say heavy metal has my heart! Throw in some 80s music, R&B, salsa, and reggaeton, and you’ve got a playlist that never seems to know what mood it’s in. And before anyone judges me, yes, I’m also that person who gets excited the moment Christmas music starts playing on the radio. No shame here! My taste in music is a lot like Beautiful Chaos — a little bit of everything and completely unpredictable.
But enough about that. Let me tell you how this whole Beautiful Chaos thing came to be.
My creative journey started back in 2012 in Buffalo, New York, when curiosity got the best of me and I began experimenting with cold-process soaps and body products. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I quickly discovered how much I loved taking a few ingredients and turning them into something I had made with my own two hands.
In 2013, I ventured into candles, wax melts, and the wonderful world of home fragrance, and let’s just say things snowballed from there.
What began as a little creative curiosity became something much more personal.
During some difficult times in my life, creating became my escape from everyday life. It was my therapy, my quiet place, and something I could pour myself into when I needed it most. I could lose myself in experimenting with fragrances, trying new ideas, and seeing what I could come up with next.
I wasn’t trying to create something perfect. I was simply doing something that made me happy, something that was mine.
My little business started as Sweetliscents, and over the years, just like life, it continued to change and grow.
In 2024, I decided it was time for a name that truly reflected me, my creativity, and everything that comes with it.
And that’s how Beautiful Chaos was born.
In April 2025, I packed up my life in Buffalo, New York, and made the move to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. New surroundings, a new chapter, but the same creative spirit — and let’s just say the fragrance oil collection made the trip, too!
My creative process can be a little chaotic, but somehow, in the middle of the mess, everything finds its place. Because let’s face it, life isn’t always neat and organized, and neither is my creative process. Sometimes there’s fragrance oil everywhere, several ideas happening at once, and a project sitting off to the side because another idea popped into my head.
But somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, something beautiful comes together.
My mess is my perfection.
Beautiful Chaos doesn’t fit neatly into one style, and honestly, neither do I. One day I’m drawn to something dark, gothic, and a little witchy. The next day, I might be creating something cutesy, elegant, refined, colorful, whimsical, or completely unexpected. And since moving to Myrtle Beach, I’ve found myself adding a little coastal inspiration into the mix, too!
I simply create what inspires me.
And fragrances? Oh, don’t even get me started!
I’m a self-proclaimed fragrance oil addict. I can have shelves full of fragrance oils and still convince myself I need just one more. Of course, one usually turns into five… but if John asks, I absolutely had them already.
And speaking of John, he’s even tried his hand at making wax melts and has come up with a fragrance blend or two himself. He’s also taken a liking to making car diffusers. The only problem? He seems to think they’re all for him! At this rate, I might have to start charging him.
There’s something about discovering a new scent, blending unexpected fragrances, and creating something that brings back a memory, sets a mood, or simply makes someone smile.
And for me, it doesn’t stop at making something smell good. I love giving a fragrance its own name, personality, and sometimes even a whole little story. A scent might remind me of a place, a feeling, a memory, or spark an idea that takes on a life of its own. That’s part of the fun for me — turning something you smell into something you can almost picture or feel.
After all, there’s a reason my tagline is A story in every scent.
And because apparently home fragrances and body products weren’t enough to keep me busy, I’ve also ventured into creating UV DTF cups and pressed shirts.
What can I say? I love seeing what I can create, and I’ve never been particularly good at sticking to just one thing. No matter what I’m creating, I love taking an idea and turning it into something tangible.
But here’s what I love most about all of this.
Something that started as curiosity became an escape, and eventually turned into something I’m incredibly proud to call my own. And knowing that something I’ve created might find its way into your home, become part of your everyday routine, or bring you a little happiness makes it that much more special.
Beautiful Chaos is a reflection of all of that — creativity, fragrance, a little unpredictability, and the belief that beautiful things don’t always have to come from a perfectly organized process.
It’s creativity, curiosity, comfort, a touch of sass, and occasionally a whole lot of mess.
But most importantly, it’s me.
So whether you’re here for a candle, a wax melt, something a little different, or you’re just browsing to see what I’ve dreamed up next, I’m happy you found your way here.
Before I let you go, I just want to say thank you. Whether you’ve purchased something, shared my little business with a friend, or simply stopped by to see what I’ve been creating, it means more to me than you probably realize. Every bit of support allows me to keep doing something I love, and knowing that something I’ve made might bring a little happiness into your day makes it all worthwhile.
Well, look at that! You made it to the end of my little story! By now, I’m pretty sure your coffee or tea needs reheating, and whatever else you’ve been sipping on might need a refill. Actually, forget reheating it! You might as well grab a fresh cup, or maybe even an energy drink at this point! Thanks for hanging out with me and getting to know the beautiful chaos behind Beautiful Chaos!
